Native of St Augustine, FL. Don’s educational background includes a BS/MS from the University of Florida and DVM degree from Auburn University.  Don has been a practicing veterinarian in Panama City since 1972, working part-time since 1999 in order to pursue his interest in watercolors.  He is a former USMC officer and veteran of Viet Nam.  Don was the past president of Southern Watercolor Society from 2006-2009.

Don is a signature member of Southern Watercolor Society, Florida Watercolor Society, Texas Watercolor Society, Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, Watercolor Society of Alabama, Kentucky Watrcolor Society, Louisiana Watercolor Society, Georgia Watercolor Society, Missouri Watercolor Society, San Diego Watercolor Society, and Tallahassee Watercolor Society and a juried member of Watercolor West, Transparent Watercolor Society of America, Watercolor Society of Houston,  and Kansas Watercolor Society.  He has been accepted in the National Watercolor Society Open Juried Exhibit and the NWS Members exhibit (twice), the Signature American Watercolor Exhibit, the Adirondacks National Watercolor Exhibit (Old Forge-twice), Allied Artists of America (twice), the American Artists Professional League, Hudson Valley Art Association, Hilton Head Art League, the Cornell Museum and many others with several national awards.  He has been published in the 2010 and 2011 Best of America Watermedia, the 2010, 2011, and 2012 International Contemporary Artists, the 2012 Creative Touch 5, and the 2012 Best of the Wolrdwide Watermedia.  Don served on the Visual Art Center of NW Florida board of directors from 2001-2006.   He is currently teaching watercolor classes locally and workshops though out the region.
